I'm inspired by old masters' compositions involving the figure in movement that twists the picture plane. In my paintings I have focused on the female figure in unclassical form.

In recent years I’ve been engaged by how the computer renders curvature in pixels with intermediate greys or colors through anti-aliasing, and how it interprets in pixels the transition from figure to background. The latest work, less recognizably figurative, is headed toward further abstraction, an inevitable outcome of my interest in integrating figure and background.
